Ladies Tea (and Tennis) Afternoons

Report by Alison Nicholson

At last a bit of dry weather meant that the ladies afternoon could go ahead on Sunday 17th November, and nine ladies came along for a couple of hours of tennis, along with a good helping of chat and laughter.  We play four games and then rotate, so that everyone gets a chance to play with everyone else.  This time we were also able to get newish pairing Sharon and Penny to practise together for most of the afternoon, and by the end of the afternoon they were playing confidently and successfully. We had a piece of flapjack on court, but decided the cuppa could wait until we got home, with the complications of opening up the pavilion – hopefully in the New Year, when the new clubhouse is finished, the tea will once again form part of the entertainment.
