Book a Court or Coaching

  • Click on button above, Sign In and select Make a Booking.   Only Registered and Paid-up members will be able to Sign In and Make a Booking.
  • If you are a Registered and Paid-up member, you will see, say, “BOOK AT 11:30” when you hover over an available slot.
  • You can then select an end time 30, 60 or 90 minutes ahead.
  • Finally, you will now see an +Add participant link – click on this as many times as you need to add the other members using your court.
  • If you need to change the participants, cancel the booking and start again.
  • Members are able to…
    • Book up to 14 days ahead
    • Book up to 90 minutes per booking
    • Make up to 4 bookings in any period of 7 days
  • Members with roles that require different booking permissions should contact the Club Secretary

Please try to CANCEL your booking as early as possible if you don’t intend to use your booked court.  Unless a late deterioration in the weather forces you to abandon playing, it is unfair on other members to book a court and not play.

  • Click on BOOK A COURT button above, Sign In and select My Bookings.  Click on Cancel against the booking you wish to cancel.
  • Please try not to keep making and cancelling bookings and, if you must cancel a booking, please do so at the earliest opportunity so that another member has a chance to use the court.

To change a court booking in order to…

  • Change start date or time
  • Change the duration
  • Add or change participants

…cancel the existing booking and re-book the court using the new information.

If you are booking for a Junior or Mini Member, please try to avoid midweek evenings from 6pm if you and your opponent are able to play during the daytime.  Most of our adult members  cannot play during the day and these times, actually from 5pm onward, are becoming increasingly congested.

There will be a £2 visitor’s fee for guests, payable by the members introducing them, unless they are a prospective member.  Please enter their details in the Visitors’ Book in the clubhouse kitchen and transfer the fee to the club bank account.

Note that if you are using this app on your phone or tablet you will not be able to add participants to your booking.  Instead use your browser to book via this website page.

It has been found that the ClubSpark website will not run correctly in Safari on some older iPads.

To Register

When you first join the club, you should receive an email from ClubSpark with a link to follow in order to Register or to Sign in if you have previously registered when at another venue.

If you are already an LTA Advantage member with Crowthorne Tennis Club as a venue, simply click on the LTA blue button.

Otherwise click on the “Haven’t created an account? Click here ” link and then on the  LTA blue button to “Register with LTA…”  Then click on the purple “Join Us” button.  You’ll be able to select your Free LTA Advantage membership – FAN for non-playing parent/guardian, PLAY for a playing adult member or 4-18 PLAY for a junior or mini.

Once you’re registered with the LTA, you’ll be able to register with ClubSpark using your LTA log-in.

If you have previously registered via ClubSpark directly or via a social media account, you need to log in normally and then click on the blue Update login now button and follow the instructions.  Click here for further guidance.

If you didn’t receive an email or you no longer monitor that email address, contact the Club Secretary and they’ll initiate a new invitation and if necessary tell you the email address to Sign In with so that you can amend your email address.

After registering, sign in and change to your new email address in “My account”.

Please note:
For minis and juniors to register to book a court or coaching course, your parent or guardian needs to register and subsequently sign in.

To book a courts, they then select the correct name from a list that appears in the drop down menu at the top right of the booking page.  This allows for several members, adult, junior and mini, in the same family to book courts in their own name.

To book a coaching course for a junior, you can add their name to your player list when you book the course and select them instead of yourself.

Places must be booked in advance via the Members’ Area and selections will then be confirmed on the morning or evening before the event.  Please do not turn up if you have not been selected as you will be turned away. Players are selected on a first come first serve basis usually in multiples of 4 players.  Note that none of these sessions is suitable for beginners.

  • Note that the Thursday session reverts to bookable format from December 2023 and runs from  5:30-7:30pm.
  • A new bookable Match Practice/Club Session starts on Thursday 1 February 2024 and runs from 7:30-9:30pm.  Those representing the club in matches at the weekend will have the opportunity for match practice, preferably with their match partner, at this session.
  • The Friday session is currently organised using a WhatsApp poll,  Contact the organiser to be included in the WhatsApp group.
  • Note that the Committee tries to accommodate the wishes of members, within the constraints of time and 4 courts, but a session for each ability level is the guiding principle.
    • The Friday session is for improver level and higher players and runs from 6pm to 8pm
    • The Thursday 5:30 session is for intermediate players and runs from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
    • The Thursday 7:30 session is for intermediate and advanced players and runs from 7:30 to 9:30pm.
    • The Tuesday session is for intermediate and advanced players and runs from 7pm to 9pm.
    • Note that you are an intermediate or advanced player if you are adult team level, including veterans teams, even if you don’t currently play in teams.
    • In all cases you must commit to the full two hours.
  • Before the session you will have been told by the organiser your starting court, your partner and your opponents.
    • These will take into account each player’s normal playing standard with the best players starting on court 1 and, with 16 players, the least able players on court 4.  However, the organiser may occasionally decide to organise it differently such as a “lucky dip” for starting court & partner.
    • In addition, for the Thursday 7:30 session, the organiser will take into account any pairings for matches at the coming weekend.
  • Play is split into 3 rounds lasting 40 minutes each.  Play 1 set with normal deuce scoring.  If you finish early either carry on or mix in your 4.
    • If you haven’t finished the set after 40 minutes and the scores are level, play a sudden death point
  • At the end of the 40 minutes the winners of the first set played move up a court, the losers move down a court (court 1 is the top court). Winners on the top court stay, as do the losers on the bottom court. If you didn’t finish your set then the pair winning at the time moves up.
  • Pairs then split partners with the pair joining them and you play a second round.
    • Partners are selected by spinning rackets or using common sense to try to get a balanced 4.
  • Exactly the same happens for the third round.

Drop-In club nights are, as the name implies, more informal sessions than the bookable ones and you can arrive and leave when you like.  Those attending organise themselves, changing who plays with whom after most present have completed a set, although there’s often a more senior member present who  will take charge if needed.

We are currently running 2 Drop-In  sessions for all levels including Beginners…

  • The Tuesday session has recently been rebranded for All Levels and runs from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.  If you want to sit out and watch, maybe with a drink, you can do that too.  If you’ve arrived early for the 7 o’clock session, you’re also welcome to join in.
  • The Wednesday session is for all levels of player including beginner and usually runs from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
    • You can expect members attending adult coaching to join in from 7:30pm

This is a template for a popup activated by a link anywhere on the website.

Pop-up settings are from the LH gearwheel at the bottom left.

More settings from RH menu bottom right.

  • Display Conditions: Include Entire Site
  • Triggers: Default – all NO
  • Advanced Rules: Default – all NO
    • Show on devices: Default shows on all but can remove, say, mobile. if required.

In Pop-up Settings Advanced tab, under Open by selector, add anchor trigger shortcode – a[href=”#link-popup”].  Make sure you DON’T CHECK open in new tab.

Apply this link (#link-popup) anywhere on website.

If you try to duplicate this from the list of popups, it turns into a page.  This is a fault that was flagged up over a year ago but not yet fixed.  There are several ways round, one is…

  • Export popup to a file
  • Import the same file
  • It appears with the same name but different date so change the name.
  • Need to change Display Conditions to Include Entire Site as this is lost.  Otherwise OK.
