New Season’s Subscriptions

The new season’s subscriptions were agreed at last Friday’s AGM and the website Subscriptions Calculator and the Membership Application Form now show the new season’s rates.  Club Treasurer Karen Smith requests that existing members please renew their subscriptions as soon as possible, preferably before the start of the new season on 1st April, as this helps to spread the administration load as well as helping the Team Captains to know who is available for the Summer League matches which begin on 6th April.  Unless your contact details have changed, there is no need to fill in a membership form, just send Karen an email with your name, the amount and any bank references.

On Saturday 9th, Ladies 2 faced a trip to Maidenhead in Division 7 to play their 6th team and they came away with 2 points from a 2-2 winning draw by 1 game. After a succession of losing draws, Men’s 3 doubled their points tally on Sunday with a dominant 4-0 away win against bottom of the table Wargrave 5. The following week Ladies’ 2 played another postponed away match, this time against Royal Ascot 2.   The next weekend was the last round in the Men’s Leagues and Men’s 1 were at home against Division 2 leaders Peppard 1 who had only dropped one point all season.  Men’s 2 were playing Peppard’s 2nd team in Division 5W and they won 3-1 to cement their position as champions of the division losing only 2 points all season. Men’s 3 had a trip to Bracknell to play their 4th team in Division 6E and,  as usual, Bracknell put out a strong team aaginst their local rivals and won 4-0.

January Match Reports – 2019

The new year started well for our Men’s Teams with two wins and a losing draw. Men’s 1 hosted Bisham Abbey 1 with their strongest team and if we could field these players for every match the team would be higher than 4th in Division 2.

Later in the day, Ladies’ 2 gained their first points of the season with a 4-0 win away at Shiplake in Division 7 and the following weekend Ladies’ 1 won 3-1 at home to second placed Marlow in Division 3 and our 18U Boys won their first match of the winter against Wokingham in Division B.

The following weekend, Mixed 3 all but secured their place in Division 5E with a 3-1 win against Sonning and on the last weekend of the month, there was the full gamut of results, a clear win and a loss and two 2-2s, one a win and the other a loss.
