No need to have a partner, as the format will be American Doubles, where players will play with and against several combinations of pairings. If this works out well, a series of similar events may be organised for eligible players across the county in 2025.
Interested players aged 65 and over please let me know direct as soon as possible, if you intend to take part. The cut-off date for entry is 15th June so e-mail me with your entry by that date, or call me if you need clarification. Please let me know if you are a spritely over 70 or a more youthful over 65s, in case we need to run two separate draws.
An entry fee of £5 per player, payable in cash on the day, is requested to pay for balls and the trophies. Free tea and coffee will be available, and everyone is encouraged to bring along a plate of something so we can all enjoy a “bring and share” lunch.
If we have more than 24 entries, the tournament may be split into two, with Over 65s playing on 20th and Over 70s only playing on 21st.
If this event proves successful, a second trial tournament of a similar nature will likely be arranged for later in the summer, possibly at Kintbury, and then more in 2025 if it goes well.
