Wokingham Theatre Charity Evening – 19th April

This is the story of the shy, reclusive Little Voice and her larger than life, out of control Mother, Mari. Desperately missing her dead father, Little Voice spends her time locked in her bedroom, listening to his old record collection and perfecting astonishing impersonations of famous divas including Shirley Bassey, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland and Dusty Springfield. She hides in her room, crooning and dreaming of love, while her disheveled mother mistakes a seedy agent’s interest as affection rather than enthusiasm for the gold mine buried in her daughter’s throat.

This is an engaging fairy tale of despair, love and finally hope as our heroine finds a voice of her own.
