After their 3-0 loss against a strong Latika team in round 1 of the Berkshire Junior Winter League, it was good to see the team win their away match against Bracknell in round 2.
In the singles, Owen Lawrence found Harvey Williams just too strong for him but he fought back well in the second set, having lost the first 1-6, but just missed out, losing it 4-6.
For Dan Rippon, it was a steady performance against Charlie Potter, winning the first set 6-4 and maintaining his form to take the second by the same score to win the rubber and square the match 1-1.
With the singles matches shared, it was bound to be close in the doubles and, with after 2 sets it was neck and neck with the score 3-6 6-3. But the Crowthorne pair rose to the challenge, continuing their winning form to take the deciding tie-break and take the 3 points.
The 14U Boys match against Latika was postponed when one of the Latika players was sick and no replacement was available at short notice.
