Protocol for club sessions

Since there have been a few instances recently when players have arrived for Club Sessions and found courts occupied by players involved in tournament or private matches, this is just a reminder of what is meant to happen under such circumstances.

These are the courts currently booked for club sessions – it’s not possible for anyone other than an administrator to book courts during these times.

* Court 4 is only available for booking on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the summer when the Club Tournament is running.

If members are using any of the courts booked for a club session for private or tournament matches, they should give way if members arriving for the club session are having to wait.  If it’s a matter of continuing for, say, 10 minutes, to finish a tournament match, it’s not unreasonable to do that but, if it gets beyond that, they should stop at the end of the current game and arrange to continue at another time.

If courts become available towards the end of a club session as members leave and go home, then it’s perfectly reasonable for tournament matches to be played.  In any case, courts are available for booking after 9pm until 11pm.

If there are tournament matches needing to be played in the week before Finals Day and, due to holidays, weather, etc., there are no alternatives, then an administrator may override the club session booking for a tournament match.
