Men’s 2 win against Windsor

Men’s 2 registered their first win of the season against Windsor 3 on Sunday in Division 4 and, while it won’t save them from relegation, it’s a boost for the team as they approach the final match against Wargrave.  Jim Hawes & Chris Torkington narrowly lost out in a deciding tie-break against Christian Balmes & Toby Warren after coming back from losing the first set 3-6 to win the second 6-4.  With Vince Brooks & Andy Stone beating the Windsor 2nd string in straight sets 6-3  6-4, things looked good for at least 2 points.  When Brooks & Stone went to a deciding tie-break against Balmes & Warren with Hawes & Torkington beaten the Windsor 2nds 6-4 6-0, it looked as though all 3 points might be up for grabs.  But the Windsor pair held on to win the tie-break and salvage a point, with Crowthorne winning the match by 2 sets.
