Farewell to the Crowthorne Tennis Club hut. 16th July 2019

Goodbye to the Old Clubhouse

Our trusty old container clubhouse which arrived on Sept 11th 2001 was taken away this morning after serving us well for nearly 18 years.  Work started immediately on the foundations for the new clubhouse which we hope to have completed late September or early October.

Open Days at CTC

We are opening up our courts to visitors again as part of the LTA’s Nature Valley British Tennis Weekend on Sunday 21st July from 2-5pm . Our coaches will be running sessions for Minis, Juniors and Adults and you’ll be able to hit and chat with members of the club about the benefits of becoming a member and we’ll be offering October rates – that is, a 50% discount on the annual rate – to new members joining on the day.

Summer Tennis Camps at CTC

We will be running Junior Tennis Camps over three weeks during the Summer school holiday this year…

Week 1 – August 5/6/7/8
Week 2 – August 12/13/14/15
Week 3 – August 19/20/21/22

…all 10:00am – 4:30pm – 4 days Monday to Thursday

For junior and mini players, Crowthorne TC members or non-members,  aged 8 – 16, you can book individual days or a whole week.

Three coaches involved – Dominic, Andy and Wojtek.

Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Autumn Coaching 2019

Autumn Coaching starts in September and you should register now to be sure of getting a place. Courses are 13 lessons long and there’s a break at the end of October/beginning of November for half term.

Phillips & Blatchford retain title

John Phillips and Jon Blatchford retained their Men’s Doubles title after an hour of scintillating tennis on a damp Sunday morning at Crowthorne Tennis Club.  It was a match that anyone who was there will have been glad to have witnessed; with the bar raised high after a week of watching Wimbledon, some of the rallies had to be seen to be believed, mixing power with guile and fine technique.

Dominic on the radio

Our Head Coach, Dominic, was on the radio last night.  He was one of a panel of local sports experts on BBC Radio Berkshire’s Extra Time sports programme.  Dom joined presenter Rita Green, Kerry Oliver (netball) and Emma Boswell (cricket) on their panel to discuss their sports and answer questions.

Road to Wimbledon

Road to Wimbledon is the biggest junior tournament in British tennis and gives all 14U players the opportunity to progress through to compete on the world famous grass courts at Wimbledon. Local clubs, parks and schools are encouraged to enter and stage a tournament for their members/pupils rated between 10.2 and 7.1.
