WINTER 2017/18

Berkshire Winter League - Ladies Doubles

Ladies 1 finished 7th in Division 3 last winter so they play in Division 4 this winter. The 2nds were unable to complete their fixtures in Division 6 so are in Division 8 this year. After a difficult 2016/17 winter season, playing in the lower divisions should encourage newer members to put themselves forward for the teams.

Matches are played Saturday afternoons with teams of 4 players playing 4 rubbers, each being 2 tie-break sets with a deciding championship tie-break (to 10) if 1 set all. 3 points are gained for a clear win, 2 for a 2-2 win on sets or games and 1 for a 2-2 loss. In the rare event of a tie where ALL SCORES are equal, a tie-break shoot out should be played to determine the winner. The tie-break shall be won by the first pair to reach 10 points with a two point difference. Any two of the four team members can contest this shoot out. This tie-break will count as one set and one game only.
