Coaching Videos - The Transitional Game

The approach shot is an important shot to master because it allows you to transition from a neutral rally to an aggressive position. You’ll follow your approach shot into net and then put the tennis ball away on the next two or three shots. The approach shot is a little bit more complicated than simply trying to hit an outright winner. Your opponent has hit you a weak ball — one that you can be aggressive with — but it’s not so weak that you can easily put the tennis ball away. The videos focus on two types of approach shots: topspin approaches and slice approaches.
